Central America trip is booked
It’s not until November but I cannot wait for it. We have some pretty cool stuff planned this summer: a Boundary Waters trip in July, Pitchfork Festival in Chicago, the annual Labor Day trip to the Black Hills, ACL in Austin. And yet, all I can think about are Belize, Guatemala, Honduras. There is something to be said about immersing yourself into an unknown language (well, I can get by on Spanish, sometimes), culture and living on $15 per day for a couple weeks. Not to mention relaxing on beautiful beaches and not having to answer to anybody but yourself.
I need more of these vacations, or maybe just quit my job and move to some place like this for a while. I could make a living doing something, couldn’t I? Run an internet cafe, moped shop, coffee house, yoga studio…the list goes on.
