We saw Dean and Britta this past weekend at the Walker. Their all new music was played in sync with 13 of Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests. It was one of the best concerts I have seen in a long time. I love the concept of mixing media like this.
After seeing this show, I couldn’t help but think I want to live in New York some day. I realize the experience would not be as exotic, or toxic, as the days when Andy Warhol lived there, or at least my life wouldn’t be.
This was a Screen Test of Nico, with Britta singing a cover by Bob Dylan. An interesting side note: Dylan and Warhol did not get along, and from what I have read, hated each other. Something I find very intriguing, but I will take Bob’s side any day.
