“Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right”- Bob Dylan
This song goes out to Bob, since I just found out he has a new album coming out in April. My friend Erica and I went to see him play down in Rochester a few years ago, he was playing an intimate, outdoor show. It was right when Modern Times came out, and he was doing a small town tour before his big one kicked in. We were having a few drinks beforehand at a local pub, and a couple guys walked in and said, “we just saw Bob driving his motorcycle down main street.” The encounter went something like this:
Guys: “Hey, you’re Bob Dylan!”
Bob: “Yes, I am.” (in his scratchy, low-key, monotonous voice)
Guys: “You have a number one album!”
Bob: “Yes, I do.” (same voice)
And the light turned green and he drove off on his motorcycyle.
He is one smooth character. Erica and I pictured him driving his motorcycle as his main form of transportation to all these small towns on this tour, because that’s how he rolls (at least in our idealistic minds).
